Three teachers from the Republic of Moldova participated in an eTwinning Professional Development Workshop on School Inclusion (linguistic and cultural minorities, Roma minorities and children with special needs) was held in Bratislava, Slovak Republic during 5-7 October.
The following issues were addressed during the Seminar:
- Inclusion and exclusion from a psychological perspective.
- Children and young people with disabilities and education as training for employment.
- Social and emotional learning.
- Roma, socially excluded children – challenge for the teacher?
- Involvement of talented children through eTwinning
Interactive activities offered the participants the possibility to discuss the issue of Roma social exclusion. Several techniques for supporting Roma children were presented at the seminar. Finally, recommendations for addressing the issue of school dropout have been submitted, which are successfully used in the EU countries on the education of socially excluded Roma children.
During the event, eTwinning educational projects have repeatedly demonstrated that they are an attractive and effective way for students and teachers to work together to identify and solve problems. It is important that the projects meet the needs of the school, teachers and / or students, to propose improvements to aspects of school life, either curricular or extracurricular.
The ‘eTwinning Plus’ Program is part of the Erasmus + Program financed by the European Union. The project is co-funded in Moldova by the Government of Sweden. Ministry of Education of the Republic of Moldova appointed the East Europe Foundation as National Support Agency to implement the eTwinning Plus project in the Republic of Moldova.
