The eTwinning Plus National Conference: Successful Projects – 2017 edition was held in Chisinau
More than 80 teachers from the Republic of Moldova and two eTwinning Ambassadors from Romania attended the conference.
‘The event provides participants with the opportunity to learn new information, to develop their interdisciplinary and digital skills, to learn instruments for involving students in eTwinning projects’, said Dorina Andreev, Program Director at the East Europe Foundation.
Two eTwinning Ambassadors from Romania and teachers from Moldova, with experience in implementing educational projects, shared their eTwinning experience at the conference. Participants were acquainted with eTwinning successful examples of implemented in several schools in the Republic of Moldova.
Also, the most active teachers involved in eTwinning projects were awarded with the National Quality Label NQL and the European Quality Label EQL, and, at the end of the event, the eTwinning Ambassador to Moldova 2017 was appointed.
What is eTwinning all about?
eTwinning is the community of schools in Europe, part of the Erasmus + Program of the European Commission – a platform for communication, collaboration, project launching and information exchange among teachers of the European community. The eTwinning Plus was launched on 4 March 2013 and targeted Eastern Partnership countries, including the Republic of Moldova. At local level, the Program is managed by the East Europe Foundation designated by the Ministry of Education as the eTwinning Plus National Support Agency. At European level, the eTwinning network includes more than 529 204 teachers and over 188 464 schools in 33 European countries (the 28 EU Member States, Iceland, Switzerland, Norway, Turkey and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia).
In Moldova, eTwinning in figures, at the end of 2017, means:
- 148 educational institutions in the country registered on the eTwinning portal;
- 294 teachers registered in the program, teachers from the Republic of Moldova initiated about 25 projects;
- 704 projects implemented by teachers from the Republic of Moldova;
- 100 teachers trained in Contact Seminars organized in collaboration with the eTwinning Support Center in Romania.
- 207 teachers participated in professional development workshops at national level;
- 60 teachers participated in contact seminars and professional development workshops, Annual Conferences, international Award Conferences;
- 5 teachers have been awarded the title of eTwinning Ambassador, who will then promote actively the Program and support new eTwinners;
One of the main priorities for 2018 is to increase the involvement of teachers and educational institutions across the country in eTwinning projects.
