Invitation to participate in the Professional Development Workshop (PDW) for eTwinning teachers

On April 19-21, 2018, in Thessaloniki, Greece, the Professional Development Workshop (PDW) titled ”Building the future of Europe through Cultural Heritage” will be held.
Note! Only teachers registered at the eTwinning Plus Moldova platform are eligible to apply.
The year 2018 has been declared the European Year of Cultural Heritage and, on this occasion, a series of events will be organized. The cultural heritage can take different forms (tangible, intangible, natural and digital) and has a universal value for us as individuals, communities and societies.
Given that the heritage plays an important role for Europe’s future, it is essential to be preserved and transmitted to future generations. Within this event, teachers from all Europe will address issues that relate to national, regional and local cultural heritage, and will identify ways by which eTwinning could contribute to this process.
The main objectives of the workshop are the following:
- To strengthen the sense of belonging to the common European space;
- To combine topics relating to the cultural heritage with education and to highlight the methods by which pupils could discover Europe’s cultural heritage;
- To train teachers to explore the potential of the cultural heritage in schools and in their eTwinning activities.
Eligibility criteria for applicants:
- Command of English language at a conversational level;
- Age of taught pupils between 12-18 years old;
- Must have experience in implementing eTwinning projects;
- To be interested in the initiation of projects with partner schools from eTwinning.net;
- To be confident users of communication and information technologies (CIT);
- Be able to set up and carry out eTwinning projects;
- To take part in activities of sharing success practices;
- Must not have participated in the last three years in an international eTwinning event;
- Must have a valid biometric passport.

The selection result shall be announced on the national eTwinning website – www.etwinning.md.

The East European Foundation (PSA Moldova) will cover the event participation cost.
