Vladimir Bulat: I won’t stop here! I want to get involved in many other projects
Vladimir BULAT, profesor de English teacher, “Constantin Stere” High School, Soroca town
It is more than two decades since I’m an English teacher. I spent more than half my life at the “Constantin Stere” High School. Soroca is my adopted city and I am delighted that what they do every day can help to increase the good name of the locality and of people who live here. Pupils, the generation of tomorrow are my so-called beneficiaries. As you all know, they most need the knowledge of English. Their future depends on it, in most cases. That is why in 2014 I decided to join my colleagues on the eTwinning platform.
It’s an international project. First of all, pupils are interested in participating in projects and getting involved in representing their school and their country. And secondly, it is about working with my colleagues in other countries. I participated in three projects. The project I enjoyed the most is the one made in partnership with Romania, and its theme was craftsmanship. Our pupils made a short film about the craftsmen in Cosauti, the stone sculptors and their ancient traditions. Another short film was about the craft related to the osier weaving. These are generations in Rublenita, where even children participate in the craftsmanship. It’s a big family that takes care to transmit the craft from generation to generation. The ‘National Craft’ project was successful, and in the end, I granted diplomas to the best, and I was glad that through this project, pupils got to know their locality and history better.
Another nice project was about traditions and Easter food. Schools in Slovenia and Romania have been partners. It was interesting because pupils learned new things about the traditions of the partner schools, but also about their country, they wrote recipes, cooked with their family and shared to each other their experience. Every time I worked with pupils in 7th and 10th grades. Almost the entire class got involved, and presentations were made in English. Children can communicate directly in English with young people from other cities. I believe they like these activities. I have often convinced myself of that during lessons. Pupils evolve. And for us, teachers, that is a very beautiful exchange of experience.
I do not stop here! I want to get involved in many other projects as well. To motivate a healthy and knowledgeable generation of European values.
