Grigore Coroi: eTwinning – a platform that inspires me to create

Success stories

Grigore COROI

Pupil of the 3th grade, Lyceum ‚Meșterul Manole’, Salcuta, Causeni

I was born on the same day as the poet Grigor Vieru, and I’m very proud of it. Who wouldn’t be proud of being born on the same day as a great poet? I’m studying in the 3th grade ‚B’ in the lyceum ‚Mesterul Manole’ – the best lyceum in the country. Why is it the best? Because I feel at home at school, and because our lyceum has revived after major repairs. Everything is beautiful and modern, everything has been made in line with European standards. I learn a lot of things and participate in various activities at school. At home, my mother doesn’t manage to help me, because she works a lot, and I don’t have a father. I’m the only child in the family. On one hand, this is good, because I do not need to share with someone the chocolates I receive. But, on the other hand, I have no one to play with or there is no one who could help with my homework.

The school is for me the space in which I create. The eTwinning platform gives me that opportunity. eTwinning is an educational platform that develops our skills. There are many projects in which we, the pupils, involve. Most of all I liked the project ‚Know yourself’. This project made us discover skills that we didn’t know to have before. I found that I like to draw and even that I’m good at that. I painted elephants and more birds. The first drawings didn’t turn out the way I wanted, but eventually I managed to draw as I wanted. I liked this project because it taught me a lot. I created my book, which I entitled ‚Earth’s Fauna’.

Another special project was ‚The Sun in the Hands’. Our teacher Mrs. Natalia drew the sun on a large sheet of paper, and we, with our yellow watercoloured hands, painted the sun rays. There were 31 rays, because we are 31 children in the class. Then, together with all our classmates, we took pictures next to the sun drawn with our hands.

Another idea that simply conquered me is to sing the eTwinning anthem. For that purpose, we worked together with the pupils from the 7th grade. We all sang together, and a senior grade pupil captured it on video, after which Mrs. Natalia, my teacher, posted it on the eTwinning platform. The whole class almost every day watched the comments on our post. Pupils from many countries saw us.
I want to tell you another story. I don’t have Internet at home, and sometimes I go to the library in my village. After I turned the computer on, I opened Google, and instead of ‚Search’ page, where I was going to write what I needed to find, an eTwinning page appeared. Then I tried my luck and searched my class on the platform page. I was really excited to see that it is our videoclips that opened. The next day I told my classmates what I saw. Some of them believed me, others did not.

And I remembered a project. It was entitled ‚Miracle Planet’, and our task was to draw the planet Earth. But we had to write a message for our drawing, and I came up with an idea. I decided to write about friendship, and I phrased it as follows: “It doesn’t matter which nationality you belong to or which country you come from, we all are friends.”

Finally, I’d like to say that one of my wishes is to go with our class to visit those pupils with whom we are working on eTwinning projects. I’d like to go to Romania, we have many friends there. And I’d also like that the teacher from Romania who is the colleague of our eTwinning platform teacher visits our lyceum. Then I’d tell her that my school is proud of the projects she initiates, and I’d thank her for that.
