Tatiana BUJAC: We must keep up with pupils, otherwise we’re not interesting people to them
Tatiana BUJAC
Romanian language and literature teacher at “Emil Nicula” High School, Mereni, Anenii Noi
I am a teacher. Just like any of you who are now reading my story. I have a school experience of over 20 years. I think a true teacher must also be a pupil his entire life, a permanent apprentice. Because today is no like yesterday, not to mention the years that passed. For this reason, it is very important for each of us to focus on new technologies, new teaching methods and to engage in projects because that is what ensures change, progress, and ultimately our professional judgment, which is very important for a teacher. If you want to fall in love with the object you teach, then you’re simply forced to do that. By virtue of my profession and thank to the way I am, I try to adapt to everything is new in my field. That’s why I chose to be an eTwinner.
The eTwinning promotion opportunities are very important for the career of each teacher, but primarily for pupils, generations we educate. I think the exchange of experience is equally important. But I admit, I was most attracted to the possibility of building friendship. Living in a world that troubled, tumultuous, with people are often intolerant and, generally, forget how is to be a human, makes me think that a sincere relationship of friendship seems vital. Being a friend with someone who is so far away. Being aware that he / she is so far away, but at the same time, so close to you. And he / she has the same interests even if he / she lives I do not know where. I think this is the most beautiful thing.
eTwinning gives us the opportunity to keep up with children, otherwise we are not interesting to them. Yes, communication between eTwinning teachers is good, but communication between pupils is more important. They are our tomorrow. And we want this day to be beautiful, peaceful, lived in harmony. We do all this effort for them. And they, in their turn, are motivated, active, eager to participate in competitions and projects. eTwinning offers them this chance.
I am honoured to run a book club in the high school. Two groups were formed, the 6th and 7th and the 9th grades. The club is called ‘I read, I learn to be’ and it is an optional hour. I can be proud of some children who are very good and I think that what they do is worth seeing everyone, even beyond the borders. That is why we joined the eTwinning project ‘In the footsteps of our beloved writers’, whose founder is also a teacher in our school. We have many activities, we do short films, we prepare for our project presentation.
You know, in the end, I want to share my thoughts with you. Our people seem a little scared. This fear has a long history, it has deep roots in our subconscious, and the children still continue to have fears, especially to talk, to communicate, to enter into debates. eTwinning offers them the opportunity to overcome their own barriers. The first experience is harder, but then things happen by themselves.
The first thing I wish is to justify my expectations for me in the future. I want to learn English better, to communicate not only with teachers from our country and Romania, but also with another good world in Europe. I want to develop and persevere in my job. And to become a role model in my job.
